old pieces, reflections on process

i've been looking back at some old pieces of work because i have started some new projects making body sculptures and puppetry again. these ones were based around the 4 extreme manifestations of fear i had at the time. there were the physical body sculptures, moving image of them walking and a set with moveable card puppet cut outs. it was shown through projections, stills and the cardboard set at my exhibition 'play' in bristol.

although it was ages ago, i am going back to this work, as the process i used then was much more centred in play, absurdity and being in the work as i made it. i am trying to relearn this way of working as i feel i have been repackaged into much more isolated, detached and serious ways of working since lockdown and having chronic pain. this work was more about the whole process than the finished piece and it was not at all linear.
